Shadowlands Pre-patch Release Date 13th October 2020

I started writing this post a few days before the startling announcement that the Shadowlands launch date has been pushed back to an as yet undetermined release date. The World of Warcraft player base was eagerly awaiting confirmation of the release date for the Shadowlands Pre-patch to land with The Shadowlands expansion due to get a World-wide release on 26th/27th October, with an expectation that the Pre-patch was going to launch on either September 29th or October 6th… That has all changed within the last 24 hours!!

Yesterday, 1st October, Blizzard announced that along with the delay to the global release of the Shadowlands expac, (date to be confirmed), they have stated that Pre-patch will release on 13th October 2020.

In a statement from John Hight, Executive Producer of World of Warcraft, Blizzard announced that “we’re delaying the release of Shadowlands to later this year. In the meantime, they stated that beginning October 13th the Shadowlands Pre-patch will be released. (It is interesting to note the statement says ‘beginning‘).

So back to my original post, we now know we have just under 11 days to prepare for Pre-patch on the 13th October. There are a host of changes coming to the game before the main expac release that will change the game prior to that.

Last Call for WoW BFA

With the Shadowlands Pre-patch being released on 13th October 2020, the next 10-11 days see the last call for some of the rewards that are being removed from the game or will become much harder to obtain in the Shadowlands pre-patch. The Uncorrupted Voidwing mount will become unobtainable Shadowlands.

Good luck hunting down anything you might still want from BFA. Having only recently managed to get the Uncorrupted Voidwing mount and Ahead of the Curve achievement, I for one will be seeing if there is a way into Mythic for the Jaina mount… But I am not very hopeful. The countdown is on!
